  skunkkiller here down in monroe we have club out of woodford yellowstone flint and cap inc.we have meet the third tuesday of each month . In the summer and early fall we he have at our cabin a bloody lake just outside woodford and late fall and winter we have in at lillie's bar in woodford 7:30pm any body is welcome to come and see if the like what we do.

Kinda new to the area,I'm in Escanaba,Mi near north east Wisconsin, Mariennette is near me, how close is it to you guy's

  Not to familiar with Wisconsin. I am in Northeastern Minnesota about 100 mile drive from Superior Wisc.

Voy, I think it's like a five hour trip for me to Escanaba.  (One of my friends is from Escanaba and her mom still lives there.)   I'm an hour and fifteen minutes from Duluth.

we are about 5 hours from mouse and about 2hour from foxriver.

  I am about 2 hours from Duluth/Superior. Look at the map and Duluth is right at the dogs snout of Lake Superior--Draw a line due north from Duluth to the Canadian Border, and ya will find Ely. Thats where I call home.

Voy, I been there, had to go up to the Tackinite (sp?), mine ta take an old transformer and it's PCB oil down to Ala.

There were/are several taconite mines mines in the area and the nearest one is in Babbitt about 17 miles from here. As for Dylan, he is from Hibbing which is about a 70 mile drive for me. He went to school with my aunt Gail, and she said even in highschool he was a strange one. As for that other one--he was from the Minneapolis/St Paul area and is still not very well liked there due to his attitude. Judy Garland--Dorothy from the wizard of Oz is from Grand rapids which is about an hour the other side of Hibbing. Ely's claim to fame as to famous people is being the birthplace of an actress named Jessica Beale or some such spelling for the last name. We also had people like Sigurd Olson of "tree hugger from hell" fame living here, Paul Harvey and Charles Kuralt spent vacations here and Kuralt bought the local radio station which was sold after he died. Dorothy Molter- a woman who lived in the very remote Knife lake area near here was famed for being the last person to be living in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, and lived off money she got as donations for her home made root beer (which she couldnt legally sell which is why she got dontions--She was a very interesting lady to know).  Joe Seliga- a world famous wood and canvas canoe builder lived here as did another famous tree hugger and author-- Bob Cary. Then we have Will Steger and Paul Shurke the explorers who in the 1980's took a party and dog teams to the north pole. Lynn Rogers the bear expert who is not very well liked by the locals. The list goes on, but from there it only gets even worse.

Voy  yer living in the land of cleberaties. When I was there Jessie Ventura was the Gov. Spotted one local with a Tee-shirt that read

"My Governer can whip your Governers ass!"

Laughed mine off. and since when is a cheeseburger with Lettus, Tomato an onion "California style"??

Yeah, I hear ya there. Jesse was actually a good governor. We do have plenty of celebs here and some of them we wish would just go away. We lucked out and 1 of the most disliked ones (Richard Dean Anderson--AKA McGyver) did stop coming up very often, and another (Farrah) died.
