Know any Kettlewells? Got a place outside of Pine River,WI. My target backstop is buried under snow right now but I can work something up when the weather turns a bit nicer. I try do do some shooting every month with my Hawken and my  Remington Rolling Block conversion. There's a few other of my Hoffmaster buds that want to get together also. Sorry, Eric told me an acquaintance of his did some black powder shooting and he had met him at the Hilltop. This would have been an excellant weekend to do some shootin but I've got a funeral Sat. afternoon; a Xmas party Sat. evening and the Viking - Dallas game is Sun. at noon. The wife has inventory Sat. morning and seeing as she is very good at not causing a fuss about all my hunting I have to set aside time with her. Hopefully we'll encounter more friendly weather this winter. March is usually a sure thing for a weekend or two of outdoor activity so we got that to look forward to. I'm heading up to the cottage today but I'm sure Mamma's going to want to go out to eat tonight.
Maybe we can get together yet. My Hawken is a Traditions also. 50cal. 1:66 twist percussion. Been shootin 90gr. Pyro. with T/C maxi Hunters and been getting good groups at 100yrds. Round balls I reserve for 50yrd. shootin with 50gr. goex or pyrodex. Got 4 doe with the Hawken and one buck with my other front stuffer. I'd rather use tradtional than modern firearms and bow hunting trumps it all. Good shootin!

All you people talking about the fine area up there in Wisconsin are bring back some fond memories... I grew up in Neenah, and my Grandparents had a place on the Pine River just outside of Poysippi (SP) right across the river from Buck Owens Ranch.  Was not into front stuffers then but remember fine times up there!  And my Great Uncle had a farm just outside of Gleason where I got my first buck....

This Eric, was he a cop at one time (Eric Nygard) hes a good friend of mine.  we have worked together for going on ten years.

I am in North Fond du Lac.Family has a small farm,40 acres ,in the Town of Greenbush in the Northern Kettle Moraine State Forest area.That is where I do most of my soot burning.Want to try the Van Dyne Sportsman club but just can" t seem to get there.

Been to Van Dyne a couple times. Nice facility - sheltered benches - spotting scopes - helpers - beer and soda bar - kitchen ( yes!!!) love to eat.
Don't know what they charge to shoot outside of deer hunting sightin in. I imagine it can be a "clicky" place. I'm not into that either. Going to Otter St. fisheree today. See ya there!!!!!!!

I am hoping it is not a clicky boys club,but closer to a goodo'l boy club.To be honest. Any time I see more shotgun activities than all others combined.It gives me an uncomfortable feelin.It probably has to do with most trap and skeet shooters I know seeming to look down on some one who can't afford a fancy gun.

I'd be embarrassed to bring any of me shot shooters to a club. My brother - in - law makes me shoot with him time  and again just to get some laughs. Do shoot best with the O/U.
