Here's my purtyist one. Circa 1800-1815 John Sheetz Virginia rifle. Everything hand made except lock and barrel(Getz custom spec. .45 cal x 42'' long).
Everything on the rifle is a copy of John's work.

Now I'm gonna hafta go get some windex and clean of the twin wet splats from my monitor screen where my eyeballs just shot outa my head like frog tounges, slapped the glass and bounced back into my skull...

THAT is an extremely beautiful example of the american longrifle!

Wasn't the original Sheetz covered as the feature in an issue of Muzzleblasts back in the early ninties?

Great thread!!! Sooooo many great rifles here and some real standouts.
Candlesnuffer's pumpkin popper is really nice to look at. I've always held that excellence lies in simplicity, pure elegance. The mostest from the leastest.
Sure wouldn't want that guy Spud mad at me, he likely could part my hair from a long ways off just to let me know he was there!
Beautiful rifles all around.

My only one I have had that I feel comfortable with, Hatfield?, .50, Davis triggers, not sure on the lock, stock refinish, rebrown and new trigger guard(not done yet) was done by me, Its a nice heavy piece for my 6ft5 frame and shoots beautifully(still wantin a Flint though, maybe someday).

This is my favorite small game rifle.  My favorite used to be my Crockett until I got this one.  It's a TVM Southern .36.
