It's for my .54 cal Lyman trade rifle, so I think it is a 3/8 rod.

I've got a couple that cam with my GM 32inch barrels. Don't know how easy they are to cut down to 28 inch. e-mail me your address and I'll find something to mail them in, may take me a few days. deaddawg@wideopenwest.com

Looking at my broken ramrod I notice that the ends are turned to a smaller diameter to accept the threaded tips.  Does anyone know if there are ramrod tips available with an inside diameter the same as the rod itself (3/8)?  That way I won't have to turn down the diameter of the rod and risk getting the tips off center.

William, The ramrods I'm sending are fiberglass (with brass ends) and threaded for 10-32 accessories each end.  There's two of them, I should get them in the mail Thursday (I forgot the tube at work today). You can cut one down for your rifle and use the other one for a range rod. They have a coned end at one end for round ball, the other end is a pinned insert. The one you cut down, unpin the insert and reinstall it and repin it.

William,

Got out of work on time for a change. The ram rods are in the mail. Sent them Priority. They should be there Friday or Monday.

Don't worry about the postage, pass the favor on to someone else if the opportunity ever arrises. Buy me a beer when I make my way back down there one of these days.

Received the ramrod(s) today and they are top notch.  A little too long to fit onto my rifle but it's an easy modification to perform.  This is a generous gift and I will "pay it forward" when I get the chance.
