this is my bow it is a 68" bamboo backed hickory and pulls 55lb@28" my quiver is a slide through  for easy arrow removal if sitting   the next bow is my son's war bow this is a monster it pulls 145lbs @30" and is 7ft.long made from cedar and will cast a a heavy arrow in the 5-600 gr. range 200-300yards quit easy  this would have been what you faced  in the 1400 's a 1000 archers casting arrows as fast as possible out to 400yards the sky would have  been  black with  arrows  coming down

Great looking bows!  I really like the quiver.  Sure would cut down on the movement when you go for a second or even a first arrow.

I can just imagine the recoil on that 145# bow.  A friend of mine had one that was rated at 100 # draw weight.  That thing would nearly jump out of your hand every time you shot it.  After a couple of shots you were ready to sit it down. :)

yep and to think the english archers would shoot arrow after arrow foe two to three hours at a time when not in battle they would practice for 6hr min per day.i can not draw the war bow back my son  shoots a 30" arrow with ease in it

reall it is pretty quite  i have never shot it  i have only watched grant shoot it  anything over 60lbs is to much for this ol,man to pull  it does look th have some hand shock to it though and even with the telephone pole arrows he uses it is still very fast.below is one of his homemade bamboo arrows  not sure of the wt.

Lady of the Woods

wow, what a couple of beauties! love the color!
