Nice Bow Tom, Just like a traditional Muzzleloader it is nice to see someone with a real bow as the new compound bows are now getting to look like something that should be orbiting Mars and sending back photo's to NASA.

If he wants some real heavy weights to shoot. Try ramin wood dowels. I've had some that weight in at 850gr with a 125 gr tip. They hit like a freight train.

sounds like a bad mo-jo  his bamboo shafts  hit like hammers out  of the heavy wt bow  where do you get you ramin wood 3rivers  had it for a while.

About the only way you can find ramin is to do a search for ramin dowels.  You can get them in either 5/16" or 3/8". 3/8" would be a better better for the spine weight you would need for the war bow. Most of the ones I had spined at 105#-110#.
