i just re did mine, and with a 34" long .50 cal, and 1" across the flats i came in at 10.5lbs

OK so how do I measure?  

Mine is a .54 and across the flat on the top by the front sight is 3/4"

length is from muzzle to butt 45 1/2"

Barrel is 29" from muzzle to breechplug

so that should be about an 8 lb gun. my lyman gpr thats .50cal, with a 32" barrel (you dont measure the breech plug) and 15/16th's across the flats, weighs in at 9lbs

Ok i'll give in to your theory that mine is the lighter rifle.... to make thing fair I'll offer to wear a 3 lb weith on tm wrist... to offset my slight weight advantage....

If I can find my SCUBA ankle weights.....
