I did have a good time  on a sunny day with my Grandson tho... so.. a good day after all.. ;D

Dryball

Don't feel alone Ray...we've all done that sometime or other.

Good day with the grandson makes it all worth it!!

I never remember instructions so I just imagine where I have to move the sights so it is pointing where it hit.  If it was hitting way to the left, I would put the gun in the rest and think where I had to put the rear sight so it was pointing at the POI.  It becomes obvious when you do that you will have to move the rear sight over to the right, or drift the front sight to the left, or maybe both if it is waaaayy off.  That helps keep me straight.  Or shoot a smoothbore with only a front sight.  Then you just have to figure how much you have to hold over.

my smoothie shoots low and to the left of aim point  chrrs
have to use redneck windage on it

Razor

Thanks Tom... that's a really good way to explain it...Maybe   &) I can remember it...

The last couple of rounds was with some Kentucky windage, ....didn't help a whole lot... ROFL, mebbe I ought to try some Pennsylvania (?)  windage .. slap

Best thing about it, I guess, is... I get to do some more shooting.. ;D hntr

Micanopy

Been there, done that. More than once!

Red Badger

yup most of us have all done it once or twice... now I gots to figure out how to snap shot a hawkins one handed fer this here duel....  this is gonna be fun.... I'm worried I'm gonna loose control of that heavy rifle when the recoil hits me.... I've got strong wrists and can control a 12 gauge one handed but I'm not sure about the rifle...

the actual shooting wont be bad, i use 60gr of fffg in mine no biggie. the real problem you gonna find out, you cant look down the sights and hold it out one handed.

kit_carson

oh yeah lucky you, your guns alot lighter than my 10.5lbs hawkens

Red Badger

not by much.... just weighed it on the kitchen scale comes in at 9 lbs 2 oz unloaded...
