Some advice please

I've had good results polishing bone with raw wool. The wool is mildly abrasive and the lanolin
polishes and seals. I would think it would work on horn.
CAUTION! Raw wool, much like sheep, stinks! Your wife may not want it in the house.
But the lanolin does do nice things for your hands.

Just to let everyone know that I've decided not to try and make this into a powder horn and might just keep it as a blowing horn, but with additional decorations and scrim.  I do apreciate all the advice and have joined the Horners Bench.  My problem really is that of having the space and tools to tackle such a project living in a 2/2 condo with no yard.  I supposed I could just set up shop on my back patio and rain down debris on my downstairs neighbor though.... strpot

PS- I can't stand the smell of lanolin so raw wool is out, at least for me but I'll pass on the advice.
