FrankG

tom-h

it will be a real critter-getter and easy  for old man to carry

Mr Woodchuck

LilBark   Knocks off a little bark with each shot
fine indeed FrankG    ... IF TomH don't want it ... it kin live hure'

RoaringBull

I think Texas would be a great home for wayward rifles....

tom-h

lilbark a most excellent name  so shall it be .thanks  mr.G.H.

Mr Woodchuck

Hey TomH   THAT DO HAVA RINGGG TO IT
                "lilbark"

tom-h

i had a chance to shoot it a few times before i sent it to franf  loaded with 50gr of 3f a leather over powder wad and an equal volume of #6 shot at 20 yards patterned like a .410 shotgun so it should do well in the thick hardwoods around here and with a 50gr charge of 3f and .390r/b did very well at 25yards but needed some  more  working up  ,but all in all it will be a very fun little gun  to carry and use  and you got to see the quality of franks work to really appreciate what this man can do  with a piece of wood and some  metal  he is a craftsman beyond  most.

FrankG

Thanks for the words of confidence Tom , hope I can live up to them .

I got the pipes inlet and some wood knock off the front end and am starting on the butt plate . Should have some more pics up tomorrow. ;D

tom-h

you proved that on the matchlock the finest crafted gun i own

FrankG

Well , I got back to it and did some more whittlin and all I got left till it goes to Tom for finish filin sandin stainin and whatnot is to nail the buttplate on and trim off , put a screw through the tang on trigger guard rear.

Heres a couple pics.

RoaringBull

That sure is fine work there Frank.......

Good to know there are do many fine builders to drill with questions if and when I finally get started doing it myself......

Chaffa Hosa

That's a neat little rifle Cant hardly wait to see it with the finish on

tom-h

holey moley i knew it would be fine but  didnt expect the silk purse from the sow's ear-- it looks fantastic have you shot a rooster yet. ;D frank got to say you never cease to amaze me this board has more talent  than one can imagine  and i proud to call this my home and my family thanks buddy  you know  i appreciate you.
