Still, I wouldn't count the old ones out; many of them favor the antarctic.  And there are still uncounted civilizations out "there" - where do think the covid came from? - ready to mess with us.

I've always tried keeping my head down; but dang if "the man"  didn't go and teach them to start shooting low!  'shok'

OH, and if you've lost conficence in Lovecraft's revelations just read more Stephen King or Dean Koontz.  pnic

two good writers  thmbsup my favorite dean koontz novel is phantoms , good reading ! they did of course screw it up for the film !  try brian keene , the rising , city of the dead ,and dead sea , they`re a trilogy ,  an entirely different take on zombies ! he grew up about 10 miles from where I live !  met him once , pretty decent guy and a good writer . he`s written about 50 books , and has a few movies based on his work !

I dont think the "great old ones " are returning , and "cthulhu " seems to have lost interest !  not that I can blame him ! government has done far more damage than he is capable of !  so far this year has been one big steaming pile of 2020 !

HUH?? I don't understand any of your post.  [hmm]  Acronyms are for the army and teenagers.

Lovecraft was a science fiction writer from Providence RI who died in, IIRC, 1939.  His stories have been made into movies and a TV series now playing.  He is often referred to by other writers and characters on TV and in the movies.  Stephen King was heavily influenced by his work.  Lovecraft's work actually bridged the gap between sci-fi and horror.  A good way to get an overall understanding of his work is to read his novella, "At The Mountains Of Madness", which is about an expedition to the continent of Antarctica.

OK. It's a cross between a pterodactyl and an octopus. Nothing strange about that.

Never thought they mated that much.  [hmm]

Lovecraft was rather neurotic as were his friends Clarke Ashton Smith, Robert E. Howard; but yes, they were gifted.

Cthulhu was described as a wanderer from the stars.  The various space beings actually mated with a few humans to produce a couple of hybrids that appeared in some of HPL's stories.  To me, one of his most horrific stories was "The Lurking Fear" with "Rats in The Wall" a tie.   When August Derleth took over HPL's notes in order to expand and carry on the legacy he added many great elements to the saga.
