Years ago I was walking back after hunting a public area and walked past a lone house adjoining the tract. The owner invited me over to have a drink. After that we became good friends.
Yesterday I went to visit him in the hospital and the oncologist walked in and told him bluntly that they weren't going to treat him because it wouldn't do any good. Then she said he should go to Hospice or go home to die. He asked how long he had. She said, "A couple of weeks to a month."  :'(

Please help my friend with your prayers and good wishes. I will appreciate it no end.

Thank you.

My friend, Earnest, was moved to Hospice last night. Swollen legs, blood in his urine ... I'm afraid the end isn't far off.

Thanks for your prayers.

I just got word from his wife, he died about midnight last night.

I thank all of you for your prayers and good wishes. He would appreciate them. He was a kind and generous man and I know you all would have liked him.

Lost a friend last month.  Hospice was great help. When my time comes, better believe I will be taking advantage of their services.  Cancer really sucks.

So sorry to hear of your loss.

My wife was a Hospice RN for the last part of her career before she retired, Most of her "Clients" became friends, and for the a few I was invited to visit because a lot of them had no one who cared enough to sit through that vigil.   The people who dedicate their lives to hospice care are a rare breed with internal strength to ease a person's suffering when they know there is only one outcome left.... GOD bless them and keep a special place for those who do this work.
