We can not let a fine piece like this rust away. Out of the goodness of my generous heart, I am willing to make the perilous trek across the badlands, risking life & limb and hostile natives, staying true to my course, I will rescue said cannon and pack it back here to the coastal state for safe storage. Being as we are looking at the untimely and early demise of the one known as our great leader after our impending duel (if he has the guts to go through with it)  blah  and the changing of the laws in California where it is no longer allowed to rain, this soon to be orphaned cannon will have a safe and dry place out here. I only offer to undertake this arduous task out of love for my fellow man and the need for balance in our universe.

Still looking for raw materials to make a cannon out of, but in the mean time I got a practice one, and RB should be quaking in his boots. Here's a picture of it.

It's pretty intimidating, isn't it?

Why I think there is even a video of this doomsday machine.

Of course if I use this one, given the scale size my 1000 yards will be about 14 1/4 feet.

Well, back to real life and searching for affordable cannon looking parts.

I know but .45 is big enough for her to feel good, my new one is a 2 lb 'er... She was mad enough when I made the deal for this one - I wonder what she would be like if I got a 4 lb'er, besides which they need a real crew mine can be operated by one in a pinch....

It's .30 caliber. This was an old toy that the bore was only 1/2" deep and just a dimple for the fuse. I was helping a friend clean out his shop and this had been on a window sill for at least 30 years. When I saw it was machined brass and not cast, I saved it from the scrap heap, took it home and bored it out and made it work.

Hey there RB, just so I have bragging rights, what are the dimensions of your woefully inadequate (Didn't your Lady call it "cute" and referred to it as "The Baby"?) low rider cannon looking toy? I'll show you mine if you show me yours.   ROFL   blah

:applause:      that's a nice size for  a cannon.  The picture does not do it justice.   It would be worth every  word spoken in a heated argument with the wife concerning why I NEED this Cannon and then get it without her permission or blessing.   Should add to your presentation for the Boy Scouts etc.     Who can resist  the attention grabber,  when a cannon if fired?         dntn
