I am only repeating what was told to me??? That the hold up is that they are waiting for GM to open a new factory?? I personally don't know anything... Just what I was told. I was instructed to call back in 3-4 weeks for the drop ins.

I would love nothing better than to find out Green Mountain was actually setting up a new factory and will be making muzzleloading barrels again. They have always made a top-of-the-line product and it is VERY difficult to explain to a customer who's never heard of anything but Green Mountain barrels and Siler locks, that as far as the barrels go he will have to settle for some second choice that he's unfamiliar with. In all honesty though, the mention of a new factory, here, is the first I've heard. It strikes me as interesting that Green Mountain themselves make no mention of it on their website. We shall see....

Big bore works fine on little critters if you load right and know where to aim. One friend of mine says the perfect grouse load is 120 gr 2f and a patched .535 ball. You had better hit the head or neck of a grouse with that load, but if an elk steps out while you are aiming at the grouse you won't have to pass up the shot at the elk.  hntr

Having used a very similar load for elk hunting, I can assure you that is a fine grouse load as well however, hitting them is not required with that load it is smoke inhalation that does the trick.  cuch

Hmmm, maybe I will finally have my barrel in by the time GM gets back to ML barrels and I can start another one... (or maybe I should finish the one I started first  hdslp ROFL)
