something yestarday when I was shooting, if I reduce my load from 70 grains of FFg to 60 the balls tend to go way left of where I am aiming. I normally stay with heavy loads for this .45 but used a lighter load yestarday due to a shortage of powder. This CVA kentucky likes 70 to 80 grains and shoots pretty tight with it but dont care much for lighter loads.

Try a load around 35 - 40 grains. Most rifles have a real accurate load about half the usual load. Can be real handy when you are running low...

Maybe check how much tension your wedge pins are pulling on your barrel.  After time stocks take a set and what was once tight can loosen up after a while.

I have a CVA Kentucky , and as Rev. says , if your going for accy. I find 40grs. 3f makes it a tack driver thmbsup  You would no doubt have to up the charge some  for deer if thats what your goal is and the .45 is legal in your area , but for accy. try some 3f loads . ;D

My CVA Mountain rifle likes 65 grains of FFF powder the best with a round ball.  Most of the places I hunt 100 yards is about the limit of how far I can see.  This load has worked well for me in the past.  The patches look good and are not burned through so it is not to hot a load.
