I have been looking at Amazon and have found 2 editions of the book. One is 1970 and the other is 1999. What are the differences? The later addition is twice as expensive. I did notice that there was a second author in the later publication. Is there a $30.00 difference in the two or will the earlier book have the same info. I don't mind getting the newer edition but with many books the difference is purely cosmetic and the info is the same maybe just rearranged.
Thanks for any input from the Gunsmithing Brain Trust.

The newer edition has some more info as well as more pictures. Both are good and if you don't mind, get the newer one,you won't regret it. I've have to replace mine twice, plum wore 'em out! Even after 40+ guns,I still refer to it often.

Thanks for the information. I ordered the newer edition and now patiently awaiting its arrival. I am currently building a Traditions Trapper pistol and a Hawken kit both in 50 cal.
