Tried .68rb in my side by side with an easy loading greased flannel patch and a max charge. The left barrel hits dead on. The ball in the right barrel doesn't move any from recoil.

I like to put an over powder wad in before the patched ball just to be sure there is no blow-by.  Really mean short range deer gun.

Be pretty hard to beat having that second shot there even if you didn't ever need it.

I'd like to think that it might be cool to put buck in one barrel and ball in the other but I'd probably be scratching my head trying to remember which was which.
My grampa in Trinity County always liked #4 buck. Was plenty big enough and gave him more pellets.
