Ohio F&I Woods tactical weekend

This is an event I plan on attending (day trippin) in October. This is a copy of the flier.


All known military French and Indian War units, les Sauvages and sutlers,
c.1750's, are invited to the Oct Tactical. All others seeking an invitation
should contact us. See below, or the pdf file attachment for the same

If you are no longer the unit contact, please forward this message to the proper
contact person or if you no longer wish to receive this invitation, please let
us know so we can update our addresses. Please review the addresses to see if
any unit was missed. Forward this invitation to all your members and ask them to
please register in a timely fashion.

F & I War Woods Tactical - Bellville, OH

All Forces, Associators, F&I War Reenactors Coalition, SYW British
Brigade and Alliance de la Nouvelle-France units welcome. All others by
invitation only.

October 25-26, 2008, Bellville, Ohio (last full weekend of Oct.).

Woods tacticals Sat. & Sun. Church service Sat. evening if we can get a
volunteer Pastor.

Fort tavern serving lunch & supper meals (b.y.o.b.) for monetary
donations starting with Friday supper. Donations of food stuff, hors d'oeuvres &
beverages to the tavern are also welcome. All are welcome to participate at the
tavern. Indicate total number of meals you want at tavern so we can plan for
adequate food supplies. Other donations may be made at tavern.

Dress, equipment, food, etc. to be c.1754-60. Military protocol
expected.

Bring tents or limited French Forces barracks in fort; and les Sauvages
in the Village structures (call for reservations & please bring candles). Bring
tents if possible as structures fill up fast. British tent camp. Straw for tent
bedding is available for donation to cover cost. Limited water - bring drinking
water, privy toilets - please bring T-paper & lanterns. Park over the hill to
West after unloading. Firewood provided. Friday setup. Please take your trash
home for disposal.

Location: "Fort la Buse" 3.5 mi. South of Bellville on State Route 13,
1.5 mi. West on Bangorville Rd., 0.25 mi. South on Shaffer Rd. to end, East to
site (left, N-E to British Camp; go straight to Indian Village & French Fort &
Camp). Midway between Columbus & Cleveland.

'Forces' Safety rules apply/no powder in horns. H2O buckets at all
campfires, & for fires in the

woods clear 10' radius & use stone fire rings. Setting off fireworks unlicensed
is illegal in OH!

Sponsors & landowners are not responsible or liable for accident, injury or
loss. Ohio revised code 1533.181 protecting owners from personal injury claims
of persons who come on their land for recreational purposes applies to all
present. Your attendance indicates that you agree.

These guys are HARD CORE. Not your BAR types who set up a camp and stay in a motel down the road. These guys are livin it for the weekend. Not a thing out of place in these camps. Proper furniture, tents, straw on the ground, even the food is period correct. You think you are actually in 1755 when you go there. I plan on day trippin it, because I can't do that much authenticity with my camp. It's close, but not quite dead on. Great learning weekend too.
