I need ideas for a Rev War Artillery man uniform and War of 1812 as well.  Thanks.

Bull, I think the rev war coat is blue with red facings. I don't know about the war of 1812...wouldn't think it changed much except fer them bucket hats!

There are several books that have lots of good info. The Osprey volume "THE AMEICAN WAR 1812-1814" by Katcher is a good place to start. Another tome to look for is by Chartrande on the Uniforms and Equipment of the War of 1812. (I think it's out of print now) The Company of Military Historians has three volumes on Uniforms worn in North America during the Rev War through the Cvil War. Look for those in your library (Vol. 1 & 2 are what you'll need) And another good book is Harold Peterson's called ROUND SHOT AND RAMMERS: A HISTORY OF MUZZLELOADING ARTILLERY. It has lots of info on the guns, implements and uniforms. You can order it through AMAZON.COM
