This may not belong in this forum, if not just pull it.

I spent a few hours yesterday cutting and engraving an antler burr medallion. It wasn't scrimmed. That burr wuz tuff as nails.LOL. Soz I engraved it. One side is a cross and the obverse is side is an attempt at a Celtic heart.

I used a dremel tool for most of it. And I also used a utility knife to do the little bit of fine lines around the cross and some writing on the obverse side.

Thanks Pitchy. One of these days I may even get good at it. LOL.

looks good, linc, how'd you keep the antler from turning black when ya inked it? I tried that once and the ink just went into every tiny crack and pore. Maybe I used a too old antler?

This antler was very old and dry. Extremely hard. I filed it down to a polish. After aplying the ink, any area that had ink that shouldn't have, I buffed the best I could with 00 steel wool till it was gone.
