I agree.............my wife used to get mad because I would come home empty handed and "had spent all that money " ......after having the kids come home and tell all the things saw and heard, she finally understood it wasn't about killing something everytime.

Been some great words spoken here!
Pretty much sums it up for me, cept I dont have grand kids yet!

so, all of that and the oneI have said for years because its not about going out and killing something.

for me, its about being out there, being with good friends, going to a special spot, eating some good food ect.

now for the animal factor.....(mind you, I have shot more animals than most folks have opprotunity for their entire life)
....being there, not shooting anything and YOU knowing wheter or not YOU would have made a clean and humane kill on said animal. You know what you are capable of, what your gun will do and YOU know in your mind whether or not all the pieces fell into place!

I have lots of picture of some of the ones I choose to let get away!

Thats the best part of hunting for me!

Some of my most memorable hunts, I never fired a shot.  Even though my short term memory has lots of holes in it, my long term is intact.  I remember every single hunt I ever went on!......................Bullfrog

Mr Woody, I don't think I could habe said it better myself.  Sometimes, to me, its better to just sit quietly and listen to natue all around you than to actually shoot something.....then the quiet time is over and the work begins.

That's the way I feel about it. Sometime I just like to get in the moment.

Nature is just about the finest thing there is ... next to lookin at n holdin a newborn baby.
The wonders bestowed upon us cannot be by accident.
Many a critter felt my front sight tickle their life and many have walked away with my smile casting a friendly shadow... allowing them to continue in the world.
Eveyday I try to understand just a little more...
