Anyone know the thread size for the nipple on the .54 frontier hunter cva? Can't find the info.

I think the nipple is a 6 X 1MM.   I'll check though.  Yep my CVA Sidelock Rifle Owners Manual says a 6 X 1 MM nipple.

We better go with Ironwoods book on this

RoaringBull

Will do......

Mr W the nipple is pretty badly rusted and just wanted to replace it........came in that same rifle the old boy shipped me loaded!

Mr Woodchuck

Bull if the nipple was that bad ... and the gun loaded , AND I know replacing the drum was discussed ... I would now be slightly concerned how bad the threads are corroded going into the barrel.
Seen one CVA come apart  ... because of corroded drumitis'
Use ya best judgement buddy ... if ya do change it ... I'd tap out for a 5/16" drum.

Drum is ok, just a little surface rust, looks good now.  Nipple isn't so bad I can't use it....jusr wanna new one onit.. got an extra from the swapping out the boys.

I'll be careful.  Thanks, buddy!!!

Mr Woodchuck

Just don't wantya taa hit de Bulls-eye...
lol

RoaringBull

ALWAYS use safety glasses.........had some flint flecks stick to 'em once that convinced me!

Ironwood

Bull... If it were me I'd get a flame thrower or hotshot nipple.  The CVA nipples aren't worth a hoot!

All my cva's and also my traditions front stuffers are 6x1mm.
The HOTSHOT made a great difference in both my cva guns, fwiw.
