Anybody out there ever worked with a 58 flinter Harpers Ferry pistol? Kinda wondering if there's a known safe upper limit with round ball because it could be a hoot for hunting.

I suspect that anything above 60 grains of ffg would be uncontrollable. It should be plenty safe at that charge.

You just might be right. The rear end is more of a handle than a "grip"...like they were more used to sabres. fncg
