Before and after photos of the tang area of my H&A Minuteman..
Before;
wood was proud at the breech and tang was proud at the wrist.
What I noticed years ago, was that the stock would flex, it would actually bend with the tang raising up about an eighth of an inch...somewhat disconcerting.... >:(
No tang screw/bolt....

After;
I removed the wood 'ears'  and drilled the tang for a wood screw....
What a difference !! It feels much more solid and handles a lot easier.
I am amazed that what I thought of as a minor cosmetic thing could have such an effect. dntn
That, and it does look a lot better   ;D
