Where are you?

It's December and Christmas is just around the corner - not a reason to keep slacking however.  I hope all are in good health or getting there if you're not.  I haven't quite returned to my former wellness since my August hospital stay.  I worry some about all you BP brothers and it appears none of us is in their 20s.  I hope I haven't missed anything about those in our thin group but here are some queries.

Where is my brother, hotfxr?  I was hoping to have more contact with everyone especially siblings.

Where is William?   Actually where is Badger, flintboomer, Winter Hawk, bmtshooter, Patocazador, Cherrybow1, Fredredcj, gnarly ol' beowulf, Blackfeet(or is it "foot"), Hawken50 (come on now!) and the rest of you guys?

Maybe thier hunting? 🤔 I havnt seen Watagua on here either. I dont post often but I always check in to see what's new. On a side note, anyone hear from Mongrel lately? I know he went Feral on us... was hoping he'd post a little here and there.

Where am I? I just escaped from the basement where Hanshi locked me into after a candied yam incident at Thanksgiving.  (susp) Sensei has no sense of humor when it comes to his yams!

I am at a loss over the lack of activity here. Or how to reverse it. I know in my case, health and vision problems make it difficult to spend time on a computer. And, unsurprisingly,  nagging folks to chime in doesn't work. I do know that over the last few years the black camel has claimed a number of our more active members, and many of us are aging to a point that we just cut back on many activities. Throw in an overall decline of black powder clubs and events, I can understand it. Don't like it, but understand.

As far as the ugly guard dog from Indiana, I miss brother Mongrel all the time.

On that cheery note, I'm off to take my grandtwins to an airplane museum and regal them with slightly exaggerated tales of my past aviation exploits.
I am the one your mom warned you about!

flintboomer

I'm still around and I keep checking in when I'm not hunting or riding a bicycle or out shooting.

Since Mongrel left and then when we had those 2 times that the site got shut down there hasn't been much activity here.

Blackfeet had trouble getting on for a while and then when he finally got access again he got fed up with the lack of activity and left. I don't know about anyone else.

bmtshooter

I have been spending my time working on getting smarter and better looking.

Opinions seem to vary on the results.

Getting the caplock ready for a little hunting here in December.

Thank you all for responding and relieving my concern over your health, etc, status.

CampbellClan, you didn't indicate if you were hunting or not.  At one time I lived for the season.  And good luck, gunhawk, in those deer woods.  Do you own a flintlock??  I mean, percussion is fine and I own three that I will never let go.  Two of them do get fired on rare occasion with #3 in retirement.

And to clarify things about my brother, hotfxr, his aviation experience consists of his one time gassing up a Piper Cub for a friend.  OH, and show those grandkids a GOOD time; HEAR!

And bmtshooter, sorry you couldn't improve those personal traits.  I think you spent too much time reading these, AHEM! posts on TMC.  Actually it helps but only if occasional responses are posted.

Always good to hear from you, flintboomer.  It's just that....well, you are too old to be riding a bicycle.  Shooting and hunting are certainly righteous however.  And as for Blackfeet, well, you have a foot with a shoe and Blackfeet has a "hiney" - SEE!  And all of us know the why of little activity.

Everything about losing Mongrel bothers me.  Surely he has to know he is missed as a friend as well as an authority/builder/poster.  I wish he'd drop a line so we know for sure he's okay.  And yes, Watagua, William, Patocazador, Winter Hawk, Cherrybow1, Fredredcj, Russell S. and several others should get in touch with us.  Badger is, of course, always sneaking around then popping up when you least expect him.

And just to set the record straight on the Thanksgiving yams, digging up some unidentified plant root then spending all that time making them look - and sorta smell - like yams doesn't cut it.  Brother hotfxr received a peaceful place and amount of time to contemplate his error.  And just because I made him swallow the basement door key didn't mean he actually "escaped".  I left him the med that hastened key retrieval.  What else was necessary?!

I'm only 76 at this writing and I am NOT too old, however I was told when I bought my bicycle that I should remember I will not bend or bounce (like a kid) at my (back then age--I was 64) I would probably break something! I have quit doing 100 mile rides but riding keeps my legs strong and helps with my balance which also helps my shooting.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hanshi

My apologies for my error on your age (snicker, snicker, he, he).  I'm 78 and have no room to talk.  I can't ride a bike at all and have balance trouble JUST WALKING!  I do have a stationary bike I have been using for years but since my stay in the hospital in August I haven't quite reassembled my previous mojo.  Leg trouble.  I have a cyst behind my right knee and leg is swollen from the knee down.  Gotta bring this up to my PCP again as walking is panful.  No exercise since I escaped from the hospital as the knee situation is still in the way.  It even keeps me from my usual shadow boxing!

For at least one week just a few days ago I was unable to bring the site up much less log on.  Anyone else have that problem?  Did it concern me greatly?  Dam%#* straight!!  I did not actually worry over it with the seriousness of our "previous" problem because I know it's not too terribly uncommon for short "oopses" to happen.  But another week and I'd be mass emailing you guys.

I am afraid that the reaper has gotten many of us.... and no one has thought to fire up the computer and post to let us know of the passing... Di and I had an understanding that we would do it, and I have a letter with phone numbers to a couple of people on the site who will relay the message of my demise if it happens.

I don't even know if old Salt is still with us - he went down hill fast after Bluebird passed away.  William is alive and well but busy with other things - but I do talk to him now and again.....

and as you all know I am tied to the Muskogee War Memorial Park so am not available as much anymore...
