The grain one one of those noggin - knockers really pops out doesn't it?  Great work.

yeah the one has very nice if somewhat patchy grain , it was done with aquafortis ,and boiled linseed oil !

What kind of wood did you use?

maple , I`ve seen them done in ash , and hedge apple , but that last is just too hard to work !
