New (to me) shotgun

Went to a gun auction yesterday and got a CVA caplock Trapper shotgun w/3 choke tubes, I.C., mod and full, a spanner wrench, a nipple wrench, and a patch removal worm, one of the good heavyweight ones, in a choke tube case. Apparently it's seen little use because  it's in almost like new condition. I can't find any marks on the wood nor the metal. It set me back $110.00. I'm going to have to try it out and see if it does as good as my Pedersoli 12 ga. percussion dbl. bbl.

I hope it shoots better than my Pedersoli did. One barrel shot high right and the other one shot low left. hitting anything with that one took a lot of luck so I got rid of it.

I think the gun in question is a single barrel, being compared to the Pedersoli the OP has which apparently shoots better than yours....

My Pedersoli 12 ga. dbl bbl. was a Christmas gift from my wife . I used it a couple of years for squirrel in the leafy part of the season, killed many a potpie worth. When we moved to northcentral PA. I went out to a close by gameland for some small game hunting When I got home, I told my wife I knew why the old timers named their guns. I said " Meet Meat Maker ", put the shotgun in the corner, reached into the back of my hunting vest an pulled out 2 ringneck and 5 bushytail. I'm hoping to get the chance to take the CVA out and see what I can do w/it. Unfortunately, right now I got a problem that's keeping me from going out. The doctor said no heavy lifting or difficult ( through the woods and brush, I checked) walking. Hopefully I get straightened out shortly.

My only shotgun was a byu-tee-ful Pedersoli 12ga dbl.  I had mucho fun with that gun for a few years until Red Badger stole it from me on some pretense I can't recall.  Even shot some trap with it.
