Went out shooting yesterday, first time in 6 months. Just a trip to remember how it is done. Decided it was a .45 caliber percussion day so I took Patches, my scratch built back action lock long rifle and my Mongrel built CVA mountain rifle. Then for grins & giggles took my converted to flintlock Kentucky pistol. Wasn't too hot and was able to sight in the rifles and curse the pistol, so all and all a good day. The main reason we went was to school a friend who is a recent convert to the black powder dark arts. He had a lot of misconceptions about muzzleloaders and the day cleared up most of them.
I am the one your mom warned you about!

Now that's the way to go, my brother.  I'm having trouble getting out to shoot as we have to schedule around only one car.  Haven't been feeling all that good of late anyway.  I do want to get out and shoot a couple of postal targets for the match.  If I don't send targets in it will be because (really) they still don't have any holes in them.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.
