Wonder where that puts the Royal Gorge bridge in Colorado? That span is supposed to be 1000' above the river.

In this case it isn't the span or elevation above the river, but rather the height of the structure itself.

I have a slight problem with bridges ( nothing to do with trolls or my nordic ancestry ) lol just plain dont like em , would have a real problem crossing either of these !

Look up "Galloping Gertie or Gerty" I forget which way it was spelled, that will give you a REASON to hate Bridges!

If Galloping Gertie was the one across Puget Sound, I saw the remains of it while duck hinting there in the early '70s.

I have a phobia of heights, acrophobia, but only when it's well above head high.  I use to hunt from elevated stands a fair amountand around 10 or 12 feet was my limit.  I know some who have no problem going up 20 feet or more but I can't do it.  I did long ago get accustomed to spending time in a fire lookout tower in my early 20s but it was a relatively modest 60 feet high.  So my phobia is very real but only moderate, say, an 8 on a 1-10 pt scale at most.

Fear of bridges is called "gephyrophobia".
