Anybody on this forum from New Hampshire, Vermont or western Maine? I attend 1 or 2 primitive biathlons a year but would love to get together with other muzzleloading enthusiasts in my area to do some fun, friendly shooting at other times of the year. Nothing big or complicated just a few guys getting together to challenge themselves and each other in light hearted competition. I live in central New Hampshire so let me know here if your within a couple of hours and would like to get a few guys together to do some target shooting especially if you know someone that would be willing to have us on their property to shoot.

Be careful what you wish for! Our resident master of all things Oriental, Klingon, and anythin' else you can imagine, the honorable (or possibly dishonorable) Master Sensei Hanshi has decided to grace the North Eastern part of the country with his presence... ( I am still trying to find out what charges they filed in Georgia....)  He is Davy Crocket, Dan'l Boone, Hugh Glass, and several others all rolled into one .......   :mini-devil-28492:  pnic  whipping  cuch  [conf]  bunkr

Of course I am kidding Hanshi is a good friend and when he digs out of the snow talk to him yoiu might not be too far apart....

wtt Those charges filed in Georgia were mistakes...or maybe not.  Anywho, as soon as my boots are freed from the frozen ground I'll be free to move a little.  I have tentative permission to walk around the block as soon as I'm freed from the ice.

Even prior to leaving Georgia I was declared a bad influence on myself.  And as a young man I was considered a "lady killer"; later acquitted, I might add.  And DO NOT believe anything Badger The Great and Merciful says about me (or anything else); they're true but that's just a technicality most likely, probably, assuredly.

All seriousness aside, when the Great Red Badger speaks there is iron in his words; this, of course, accounts for that "clinky" sound.

We do have fun, here, and are immersed in black powder subjects.  Anything muzzleloading, traditional that is, is fair game.  hntr 'shok' wtch

SAFETY ALERT: Watch out for this guy hotfxr - he knows a lot of stuff.....that's all wrong.  strpot bs prty

I'll go ahead and divulge this fact in the hopes that all will be aware of how things stand...standed...whatever.  But when we were both little girls, hotfxr used to pick on me something awful.  And mom always took her/his side!

Submarines: I'm claustrophobic and have only been on a sub once in my life.  In Charleston SC at the sub and destroyer, looking to have more adventure after the gator farm, SWMBO and I toured the destroyer.  Now, let me say this, in movies about subs, they appear to be wider than my living room and cavernous enough to play baseball.  Being ignernt (Southern for ignorant) and always much too hopeful for my own good, I never thought twice about standing in the line of visitors now filing through, what soon became known to me as "that accursed tomb".  Astonishingly, when I stepped inside, it DID NOT open up like an auditorium, but rather was so narrow and tight that if you had to pass someone in there that you were not in an intimate relationship with, you definitely would be then.  In my own defense, I didn't start to hyperventilate immediately; that didn't happen until after I entered through the hatch? door? how about just "hole".

I thank the Lord that the line never stopped while some snot-nosed urchin tried to play "launch torpedo" or while some "Walter Mitty" adult hovered over the steel wall to study the awesome technology represented by pipes, dials and..and..and several light fixtures which, I might add, while providing illumination also took up enough room to prevent intimate encounters - such as mentioned above - from (AHEM!) occurring.  If any thing had actually initiated such a slowdown that would have prevented one foot from following the next in smooth succession, a screaming, mindless figure in a straight jacket would have been seen on the 6:00 O'clock news being carried off that horrid sewer pipe, then placed, kicking and slobbering, into a padded ambulance by several burly men in white; the destination, of course, being the madhouse where hopeless cases crawl around on all fours chasing dust motes.  Just when I didn't think I could take one more second of not breathing in that infernal metal cocoon, I made a promise to God that if he got me back outside and still able to remember my own name, that no one would ever get me in one of those things again unless it was done in multiple trips.

I have been there and make a promise to god that I would go straight Viet Nam or he$$ His choice. You know I have yet figured out which is which.

do I see a train wreck?

I have my own stories about Submarines,  I have  spent a weekend on the USS Batifish (SS-310) in Muskogee, OK. and been on the Cobia (SS-245) at Two Rivers WI. for extended periods of time with local re-enactment groups....
