Would there be any interest in trading or lending books or movies? I know I have many books laying around here that others might enjoy.
Some that come to mind are of William W. Johnstone. He has a small series of mountain man books, and a lot of cowboy books that I have. These are paperback novels.
What you think. We could make a list, and they could be sent on to the next guy on the list.
Something to think about.

Dryball

Sounds interesting. We'll need to talk this over...I'll put it to the Booshways and see what they think, since most of the work will be up to them. :D

Dryball

They believe your idea has possibilities, how would you suggest we set it up?

Hmmmm, I'll have to put on my thinking hat for that. I was kinda hoping someone with more smarts than me would say "Here's How You Do It".  :-\
Let's make this a "Group" Thinktank.

Dryball

That's my problem...never seen one, not sure what is needed.

How about a person lists the books or movies that they have and make them available for loan.. That way no one person is responsible for all the books, movies, etc.

R.M.

I think you're on the right track Sir Bull.  ;D
When you say"the books you have", I would suggest that they be the books that are to sent on, not the ones that you own, or owned. I don't think it makes sense to send the books back to the owner every time. They can be sent on to the next borrower. If I have a book of Sir Cow Chip's, oh sorry, Mr. Bulls,  ::), and when I'm finished with it, Mr DryBall wants to read it, I should just send it to him, not back to David. Does this make sense??

That would be good and have the owner of the book/movie update their original post of the new recipient each time it changes hands in order to keep track of their property.

And in order to stop any long lines, how about the first person to ask for it, gets it. When it becomes available again, the owner posts it, and the first one again gets it sent to him. Am I making any sense. The first to ask gets it. None of this"I want it second". I think it would avoid some headaches for the owner.

Another way that this could be handled is that the original owner list the book, the first person to request it receives it and the original owner list who the book was sent to, the second  person interested request the book from the first recipient, when #1 finishes the book he list the name of #2 and sends him the book etc. for #3 #4 #5 etc.

I'm sure this could work. It just needs somebody with more "Smarts" than me.  hdslp

i really think it could get expensive if 1 person had to pay shipping each they mailed out the book ------- and there should be a time limit that the borrower is allowed to keep said item

Red Badger

This idea has been revisited and approved...

look for the subforum for the list of books, etc. available.
