When I went to Alaska, many moons ago, the old timers would remove the beard during the Winter as their breath would freeze on it building up ice which in turn would draw the cold in causing frostbite.  During Summer however, they would grow a beard to keep the mosquitoes off the face.

Looks like you are attending a shoot in a great location. Was this a Woods Walk?
Were all the targets marked or did you have to locate them as you moved through the woods?

yes its at the oakland county sportsmans club, the targets are marked and sometimes have instructions, sitting , prone,mostly clangers with nove!tys thrown in from time to time,this was during the 8 week winter league 8 sundays in a row including best over the fire iron cooking,tradegun and rifle scored seperatly. I sure feel good in my shootin duds
