After building the little blanket gun (#17) I built this 14 in. barreled .45 cal. "Stutzen Jaeger" based loosely on the one featured in this YouTube video. The lock is a L&R #2300 Jager.  No. 18 in the books! and I said I was going to stop after #4  ROFL

Looks sweet. Bet it'll be fun too

I like it.    thmbsup     If it were for me, I'd prefer a longer barrel .. maybe 22".

Another fine masterpiece from the other coast, well done as always. Not to be a nitpicker or anything, but why do you call it a "Stutz"gun? Stutz in German means "Stucco", which I guess means it's main job is shooting houses. Easier to hit than canoes, blankets. and squirrels, especially for our esteemed leader. Do you possibly mean "Kurz" which translates to "short"?  ROFL
I am the one your mom warned you about!

Being an American without all of that European influence in my brain cells, I'd go so far as to call it............a very nice "Canoe" gun!  :mini-devil-28492:

Now let the fur fly!  fncg   wtch

The noun "Stutzen" means a short rifle in German. The verb "stutzen" means to cut, trim or shorten.
The German word for stucco is "Stuck".

If that is what it is known as, fine with me, all I know is if Woody built it, it is a very well made piece.

Thanks Tim.
Kinda pondered that loading question myself, shouldn't be a issue at the club range and in the field?...well it shouldn't be any different than loading a pistol....  although......I may have to give that 5 gallon bucket some thought!  ROFL

Patocazador I guess I didn't hear the "en" in the video, but either way I enjoyed building a "Short Hunting Rifle"  Stutzen Jaeger ?  ROFL

hotfxr thanks for the compliments.....come to think of it....I've built guns to hunt canoes, blankets, and now one for short hunts or a little shooting!  ROFL
