I've been working on and off on my take of a early full stock English sporting rifle, .50 cal. 36 in. Oct./rd. "Caywood" barrel. Maple stock with a Chamber's early Ketland lock.. hand made butt plate, pewter nose cap, and wooden patch box. With getting the sights installed this morning I'm pretty much at the sanding and fine tuning point.

Decided to do a simple stepped tang carving I found in a photo on a original English pistol today, also made my side plate after supper...cut from sheet brass and filed. I will have a little engraving added later by my mentor....I just can't seem to get the hang of engraving. LOL

Well it's 99% there, still need some tuning and touch ups. Sorry for the crummy photo..my camera died and I had to use my phone.
