As for my absence

Some of my friends here may have noticed that I've been absent for the last two and a half months.  Well, I received a call from a relative in Georgia that my mother had suddenly started going downhill.  She had been battling breast cancer for a long while but her sudden turn came as a shock to all of us.  I left quickly at the beginning of March and just got back Friday evening.  I sat at her bedside virtually every day until she lapsed into a coma and died shortly after.  Not only was this stressful, it was an ordeal that had me wondering if I could physically keep going.  But it meant everything to her having me with her until she finally lapsed into a coma and died shortly thereafter.  I treasure the time I was able to spend with her.

But I'm back now and will be recuperating for a while and, of course, spinning yarns with all my friends her at TMC.

takes a while to get yourself back to normal after something like that , I went through the same thing just a couple of months after turning 21 , you have my full sympathy ! just hang in there , and deal with the grief , you have all of us here at tmoc to talk to , pretty sure everyone here will agree !

Been through that more times than I care to remember. But as much as it tears you up inside, it is far outweighed by knowing you made someones last days tolerable. I have been told my a few doctor types that the presence of a friend, family member, loved one, etc actually lessens the pain of the patient. As much as I don't trust doctors much anymore, that is something that I choose to believe. You have done much good Sensei.
I am the one your mom warned you about!

Sorry for your loss. I know what you're going through as well. I helped my Mother and my Mother-n-Law. I thought i was the Angel of Death because of it. My Pastor and I set down many times. He told me i wasn't, and in fact was a Angel of Mercy. Not every person can handle and make it thru such a daunting situation. It did take time, and I came to terms with it.
Hanshi you did what you could do. Feel privileged that you were there when she needed you the most.
If you ever need someone to talk with cry with or you just need an ear to bend I'm here. Pm me and I'll give you my phone number.
You have been in my prayers, and will continue to be.

Yup what them guys have said... you take care and let us know if we can do anything... Prayers have been with you and will continue to be so until I take my last breath....

Hanshi,
Very sorry to hear about your loss. Memories are a great thing and I'm certain you have many. Cherish them and she'll always be with you.

Thank you for the kind support, all of you.  It is so comforting to have friends like my TMC brothers who are understanding and empathize at times like this.  I will be a bit slow starting back up; yet I'm here and can't be chased away with a stick.

Deepest sympathy at the passing of your Mother. I am new here but enjoyed reading back through posts and your contribution to the site. Rest easy Brother..There is no pain in Heaven....

Please accept my sincere condolences. I know how trying it is, right down to having a mother who passes from breast cancer.
I hope it won't be long before you are involved again in muzzleloading.
All the Best,
Ron
