Minié ball lube

  OK, lots of discussion here on patch lube...let's open the can O'worms on Minié ball lube...any takers?

Beeswax and olive oil mixed at around a 7-1 ratio to the point that it's stiff enough to roll onto the Minie Ball and stick. I've also found that accuracy is best with the addition of a lubed fiber wad.
The depth of the rifling has as much or more impact on accuracy as does the rate of twist.

Unsalted lard and beeswax - thick for summertime use and conical lube, thin for cold weather conical lube.
Plain corn oil for winter patch lube.
