Something is bothering me about the line at the top at the rear part of the butt. Is that an incipient crack that is being reinforced by metal hardware or (hopefully) just a deep grain line?

It was checking that emerged as I shaped the butt, I injected it with wood glue and pins and it is reinforced with the butt plate. It also has some worm hole/tracks that came out along the top of the comb. I built this one for my personal use so  I decided to finish it with a aged finish instead of pitching it.
