I've done some looking around online, and I've found a hunting frock that is available in multiple colors of canvas.  The color that caught my eye the most was a dark green, but most of the ones I've seen people wear have been an off white color, would it be period correct to have one in a dark green color? I imagine there is plenty of things to dye material green, I just haven't seen many this color.  It also came in a light brown/nutmeg color, a white shade, navy, black and red, but the two I like the look of are the green mostly, then the nutmeg in second place.

I believe historically there were quite a few different colors. ie: natural, brown, green, red, blue, black and a lot of mixed colors.

I have one made of canvas that started out in the off white color that I dyed to a medium brown with walnut hull powder. Forest/dark green is historic but keep in mind that natural dyes created different colors than the modern ones we have today, so "green" is somewhat of a relative term in this case. Also, the cotton canvas of today is different from yesteryear and linen would have been more common. Again, everything is relative when it comes to historically correct since we can never recreate the past 100 %.
