Just got done with dinner, turned out good. Gotta work on how to cook pizza in a dutch oven, got it to hot I think, but was still good. Here is the place I got the idea from http://whatscookingamerica.net/Information/DutchOven/Pizza/DutchOvenPizza.htm. That should take you right to the pizza page. I added some more sauce and some veggies, oh yeah extra pepperoni and cheese ;D.The peach cobbler recipe I got right here at this site  dntn.. Now the oven I used for the pizza is for tomato based recipes only. I'm pretty sure I posted my venison recipe here awhile back. If not I'll post it.

Sounds good to me. I know how good your cobblers are. Great now I want some to eat. Interesting site, you can get lots of god idea's. What did you use for the pulled venison?

ErikPrice1@msn.com

used some deer elk and antelope.

For what it is worth, we have used tomato based recipes with no problems, in our Lodge dutch ovens by using these new fangled liner things... they actually do work.

And the BSA has been doing Dutch oven Pizza for 30 years that I know of ....  whipping

Leave it too the boy's in the bsa to make pizza's, just got a couple cool recipe's from my friend and his son, from their scout troop. They also make a huge oatmeal chocolate chip cookie in one. Sound's good

Way back when I was a scout leader, every camporee had scouts lined up with plates around our fire. Not only did we wow them by our unreal speed in lighting fires with flint & steel (We did cheat, we used a pinch of magnesium shavings in our tinder, for demonstration purposes only and full disclosure was made.) our boys used a great sourdough pizza recipe that one of our ECV parents had. Alas, said parent guarded his recipe with his life and when his boy aged out, it stayed with him. I have had mild success using a corn meal (think hush puppies) crust for for dutch oven pizza. Dagnabit, now I am hungry. Gotta go scare up some grub.
I am the one your mom warned you about!

I make pizza in a dutch oven using Pillsbury biscuts, or make my own, I add pizza sauce on top of that, andthen peperoni, followed by grated cheese. Made these for the kids at a reunion, and they kept me busy with two dutchovens, 14 inchers for hours, and even I enjoyed the couple I managed to snag before we ran out of the makings. I heat the oven and lid on the fire, then remove the oven, and put the lid on and using a shovel add coals to the lid. Takes about three minutes is all.
