Yawn... Stretch... Yeah, it's been a bit lazy and slow here on Ye Olde Parsimonious Front Stuffing Smoke Pole Discharger Cyber Gathering Place, so rather than just give in to relaxing and watching football I made the perilous trek up North and joined in with the fuzzy hat guys in making some smoke and fire while putting holes in pieces of paper about 50 yards out. Today was different than most as we did not have a competition but rather spent over 4 hours sighting in and passing advice back and forth. The advice most of the guys gave me was to find a hobby where the outcome was not dependent on my aim. Go figure. Although my shooting skills were less than spectacular, I did show up in all my 1805 regalia which did shock the group. It shocked the guy that borrowed one of my throwing knives a couple of months ago so bad that instead of giving it back to me with a critique, he appropriated it for his personal collection and said he was doing it for my own good. It's a good thing that I am surrounded by friendly folk that are always looking out for my welfare. I didn't even think of bringing a camera with me today (Hey, remember I never claimed to be smart) but one of the guys did and he emailed me a couple of pictures of me in my getup, so reluctantly I am sharing the pics with the ever so gracious members of this here forum.





And yes I did get dinged for the modern tee shirt, but since there were only two of us in character, they couldn't give me too much grief.

And since I do not yet own an appropriate flintlock pistol, I stepped away from scouting for Lewis & Clark, held tightly onto that 1830's Lancaster syle Mean Mongrel built .36 and jumped forward to walk with Jeremiah Johnson.

I just looked at a preview of this post 'cause I didn't really look at the pictures before and it's true, I really am ruggedly handsome!

I will not even start to comment on the ruggedly handsome comment.  But I will say I do like the lil' toadsticker you sent me.

"ruggedly handsome" ? could well be said of a 1950 dodge power wagon 4X4.....Surprised to see all those sharp pointy objects close to your own self...... .....Tom  way past rug'd-hansum & just plain beat up & wore out...
