I am looking to buy some U and V shaped Gouges (Chisels), and some Rat Tail files in various sizes for working on some Powder Horns. Nobody and I mean nobody has any of these, Hobby Lobby, Home Depot, Lowes, Harbor Freight, nor any of my local hardware stores has them. Thanks.

Unfortunately I'm too poor to afford those.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These are JUNK with a capital J! I bought some of these for the Boy Scouts a couple years ago. They might work for carving a totem pole or bridge building, but do not have the quality or finesse to do horns or rifle stock. Your mileage may vary, but I would avoid them.

Check their rules on free shipping

If you do it right you can get free shipping most of the time.

I do on all my orders.

Try Ebay and look up Frontier Castings. He seems to have several for very low prices. Additionally any small X-acto knife set has blades that do the job well. If those don't work for you, shoot me an address and I will send you a couple of spares I have for the cost of shipping. ( I have absolutely no talent for wood carving whatsoever)
I am the one your mom warned you about!

These cost more but have better reviews.  If it were my money this is what I would get.

Those ARE good chisels, but they are carpenter chisels. Other than the 1/4", the others will be too big.

These are all better to high quality carving tools for reasonable prices. It may seem expensive sometimes, but you do get what you pay for, and good tools will last a life time. Do yourself a favor and by the best you can afford, you will not regret it.
The older Millers falls with the green handles did me well for years, I may put a set on watch for myself.

Great! I'll give these folks a look over, Wish I could hold one in person so I know if the U or V is the right size.

wood carving issustrated has chisels in a lot of different shapes. Some good ones are available from a company called,"Flex Cut", they are great tools, but there are a lot of brands to choose from. I do wood carving so have a bunch of these, and my favorite is the Flex Cut brand.
