Are they that desperate?

A word of warning about using such service as "Home Advisor".  My parents are going on a cruise in two weeks and currently I'm not able to do much in the way of house cleaning, so I checked out "Home Advisor" to see if they had any recommendations.  Well, after putting in my name, phone number and the nearest cross street with zip code (I didn't want to give the exact address in case one of the cleaning companies were to send a rep. over while my folks are still here). That was the only smart thing I did!  Within minutes, on Sunday afternoon and DESPITE my instructions not to contact me as I wanted to have a chance to review the recommended companies myself and that I would call them, I got 5 phone calls, two from the same company and one email from the same service that had just called.

Home Advisor is nothing more than an advertiser!    After getting burned twice using Angie's List I should have known better.......

Checking with friends to see who they recommend in the area which I what I should have done in the first place.

Tell Di that I'm willing to pay the going rate but not mileage.  Plus she'd be a guest in my house.
