this guy does some nice work , but , https://www.etsy.com/listing/111679649/custom-flat-powder-horn-no-2012-01-ships?ref=sr_gallery_4&ga_search_query=powder+horns&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_ship_to=US&ga_page=3&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery I just cant see paying that for this , some of his horns go for $1,500 bucks , and there are several horners on this site who do better work at nowhere near the prices he charges !

it's certainly nicer than anything I could do but, for that kind of money you could get 2 or 3 of horner75's horns which are more authentic & much better lookin'. my opinion & yer welcome to it, bubba.

Nice looking horns,BUT,as stated above there are horn makers on here who do better in my opinion,of course they work out of a shop not a studio and don't put their products on pedestals.

William

Must be a lot of overhead with that studio.

Nice looking Horns, But I will stick with my cheap Crazy crow Trading Post  horn.

Dogshirt

I concur, nice horn, but I'll stick with my Austin Walkers and October country.

I have half a dozen powder horns, two I bought off Ebay for less than $20 and the rest I made for ahh let me remember, oh yeah, nothing. All these do is hold powder and let you pour powder out of them. After a minimum effort in tweaking and polishing, all of them do that well. There have been many beautiful and outstanding horns built by members here and I admire them all and would love to have any of them. I readily admit that I do not possess any talent in the carving arts and am in awe of those that do. But to pay $350 and up for something that does a simple task and if I am using it will be banged up in no time makes no sense at all to me. For $350 I can build a decent rifle that will have way more return than a fancy horn ever could.
I am the one your mom warned you about!

as I said ! granted , he does a nice horn , but so do I ! and so do many on this site or the horners bench . these are carved nicely but otherwise basically nothing special !  I`d feel a little seedy charging $1,500 for a nice map horn , and I know they take a lot of talent and are worth much more than I charge for a horn ! but still cant wrap my mind around this guys pricing !  skrt

I have one Austin Walker horn and one Powder Horns & More horn plus my personalized horn(three in all).  I wasn't correcting you Dogshirt, I knew you meant more than one Austin Walker horn.  ;D

Blackfeet

I have only one simple but sturdy horn, acquired from my good friend Crazell.
It, as Ron himself, will do to ride the river with. thmbsup

Sorry, but that horn is worth maybe $75.00. The display stand? who needs a display stand for a Powder Horn? Also 18 to 24 months for a special order? thanks but no thanks.
