A friend is going to make me a bag and I need some ideas for a open top bag. I want one of these for our woods walk. Please post pics of you open top bags and details

Open top bags and flintlocks  . Have a friend who used an open top due to an indian persona and shoots a flintlock. Powder residue from a primer was in the bag and a spark from his pan got together with it and he ended up in the hospital with some pretty bad burns. Make certain you keep your horn on the opposite side of your body from your bag and that your primer is sealed tight or hung outside the bag.

     I have 3 shooing bags,  2 leather,  one fabric.  All have flap closures,,  None are open top.    Never saw an open top bag.

Open tops catch all sorts of things, leaves twigs etc.

I  tried that exploding bag idea years ago....only once and you will close the top....

Thanks for putting me on the right path. I may have him make me a bag with a shorter flap that is easier to open.
