I have always just figured that winter is just a normal thing to deal with.
However this winter has been RUDE and I have had more the enough of it.
With that in mind what load would you use on a Groundhog?
He ain't going to see his Shadow if I can help it!

pnic  Them ground hogs are dangerous. I wouldnt use less than a 50 caliber with a heavy minnie ball and at least 120 grains of 2f Goex. Then you'll have to draw your Walker loaded with 60 grains 2f and a 180 grain conical and finish him off. Like i said they are tuff and dangerous....   ;D
"GOD made man and Sam Colt made em equal"
Well, you gonna pull them pistols or whistle Dixie?

Ahh, finally a use for my .54 Lyman. One of those 425 grain conicals should dispatch the ornery critter. Maybe after we take out the ground hog, we can hunt............badgers.   strpot
I am the one your mom warned you about!

I tend to use my trapdoor on them ! when I`m done they kinda look like  :blech:

Baldy

Don't mess them up too much.  They are right tasty when done on the BBQ.

I find an 18 pound Dachshund to be really effective!

Message from the groundhog: "Dammit captain; I'm just a country groundhog, not a meteorologist!"
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

I like those extra days of winter here. Makes for a longer fur trapping season. BH

I'll be happy if there is ONLY 6 more weeks of winter.  Around here winter may last through April. :'(

bs   Its time to start to set traps out for Punxsutawney Phil.  I have a fantastic recipe for Punxsutawney Phil Stew,  complete with Dumplings. :applause:   Just need the main ingredient.   That despicable rodent.     May also be necessary to set up some traps for strange men in Tuxedos that pull groundhogs out of their burrows in order to predict 6 weeks more winter.   No sooner did they predict 6 weeks more winter,  then the weather man says we can expect snow on Monday,  Wednesday and again on Sunday  of this coming week.   By Sunday that stew sure would hit the spot.  ROFL  And believe me,  it has a big enough target.   ROFL  ROFL

It's supposed to hit -1 Thursday night. No snow, just cold.

only way I'd be worried is if you picked up a FLINTLOCK.... :mini-devil-28492:
