Here's the jukar Kentucky i'm goig to redo. This is the one that  i used Evaporust on to clean out a very rusty barrel, Thought i would post a before pic before i start on the rest of it.

Well, you gonna pull them pistols or whistle Dixie?

Are you going to refinish the existing stock or make a new one?

Hawken50

Havent decided on that yet William. Been thinking since this is TMOTC that i might make a wooden spacer to replace the brass one and see if i can make it look like one piece. If it dont work then i'll go with a new stock.

Just my opinion but I always liked the overall lines and shape of that rifle.  The two piece stock seems to detract from the intended look and a one piece stock that sticks to that general theme would make it an above average rifle.  That may be too much work for this particular project so maybe with a wood spacer and a little reshaping of the existing stock is in order first.

I have seen them done with a contrasting piece of wood, they were very well done & looked good...

With a wooden spacer, you can still use the tube & pins to hold it together. I am anxious to see how it turns out because I am thinking of doing the same to mine.
I am the one your mom warned you about!

I think i see a drum and nipple type breech, IIRC these mark the last of the jukar brand just before the CVA ones. This is a really good thing as the early one piece bolster Jukars can be somewhat "problematic".  I have seen these later ones shoot well and the barrels refitted to new rifles with better lock (with fly) and DSt.  One fellow fooled us all by reusing a barrel turned upside down (to hide marks) and rebreeched  He used a nice diagonal t&G splice (with a 1" shorter barrel) to help hide seam and retain overall look.  Prices on these are going up as avg factory repop fulltocks of any flavor push near the 1 k mark

have owned three of these , one flinter and two percussion , and have rebuilt a couple for friends ! overall pretty good rifles , accurate , and at .45 cal cheap to shoot !  never paid over 50 bucks for a used one , and my first rifle was a flinter that cost 67 bucks as a kit !  should turn out rather nice !

current net prices for complete jukar/cva  fullstocks can run from 250 to 375.   Even more if parted out. I remember these at kmart for under 75.    Jukar bolster type pistols were banned from range for bad habit of launching nipple into range roof.    Think user was overloading it and had a loose nipple but it did happen.

I have one of these that was bought in pieces...ie: two auctions. It cost me a total of 225.  The seller said it needed a new drum and that it was included. The original drum was removed and also included but had crossed nipple threads. I noticed the new drum was NOT tapered on its end like the original. Looked to me that the new one should not be installed if it wouldn't seat properly so I tapped the original's nipple opening to the next size up. Makes me wonder what that "new" drum was actually for. Maybe a newer model. Mine don't say Jukar anywhere on it, only CVA.  Anyway...Like Forest's mom used to say, "Auctions are like a box of chocolates...you never know what you gonna get".  My point is...check that drum for scars. It may be a "replacement".

I am interested in how it comes out. I have the barrel, hardware and a L&R RPL flintlock and was thinking of buying a pre carved full stock .

i owned one of these rifles.....bought it as a kit. cant say it was the prettiest rifle but it shot well...until the stock cracked through the wrist. I ended up trading the parts to mike lange on a custom folwer lol...
