Couldn't stand it any longer. I started my sixth build today (first for 2014). It is going to be a .56 cal. 36 inch round tapered Netting barrel, Walnut stock and a Chamber's Queen Ann lock. The stock blank was given to me by a dear friend of mine before he sold his farm and move to Tennessee last fall, it was stored in the loft of his barn for about 15 - 20 years. It dose have some nice figure so I hope I don't mess it up. Anyway, given that the wood was a gift from a close friend and the barrel was made for me by good friend, this is one I really want to turn out right so I will be taking all the time I need to complete it. I'll post updates as I can.

The weather has been keeping me out of the shop for quite some time but I was able to get quite a bit done the last few days. Trimmed some of the bulk wood so I could chiseled the barrel and ramrod channels, inlet the lock, and got two forward ramrod thimbles.....can't wait for Spring!!!

I am using Ted Cash round fowler pipes.....still need to do the entry pipe.

Went to Ken's yesterday and got a lesson on making the butt plate. I got it installed then removed a good amount of the excess wood. Also started making a trigger.

I finally got to spend a little time in the shop and moved forward on this again. I finished shaping the trigger, made my trigger guard, got the rear entry pipe installed, and  started some rough stock shaping.
