Not so much a 'where can I get' More of a 'where did I see?" Bullet/ball trap

A while back.............ok maybe a long while back, I displayed a simple bullet trap consisting of a 5 gallon pail full of sand with a window to replace the target face. I do not remember what forum it was under but that is not important. I was using sand and ultimately, that is merely ok as a media as it is a very good abrasive and recovering only half of the lead is ok, but not ideal. You would have to run the sand through the smelter to capture the rest.

Someone (Red Badger?) mentioned using ground rubber mulch. I am interested in following up if anyone can point me in the general direction from whence I came..............yes, I COULD look through my old posts but I am hoping to hear of other ideas as well

What if you were to use a bullet trap made of steel plate.  fashion into usual design used at indoor range, but on a single target scale.   using sand, or rubber mulch to capture RB

So ou want me to look through my old posts and find it for you?   pnic

Yes twas I that is using the rubber mulch stuff and it is working fine, other than the fact that you have to sift through the stuff with you hands to find the rb.  Unless you have a shaker and can place the whole contrapion on it and then run the shaker for 10 min or so to get the RB to the bottom of the container.  Then you open the trap door and out they fall.  Oh did I forget to mention you have to make a trap door for it?  &)

I am thinking about a sheet of 1/2" or 3/4" plate angled at 45 degrees to deflect shots into the ground just behind the target stand... might not be very portable but I don't move my target stands much anyway. oh and btw here is the original topic you were searching for:
