Self bows

Here's 5 self bows that I've made or at least the middle of them. The top one is sinew backed Oak and the design is copied from a Modoc Indian bow. the 2nd is Ash, the 3rd and 4th are Hickory backed Elm and the 5th is Hickory. All shoot good but the 3rd or middle one  I shoot best and have won a bunch of shoots with it.  There's a set of 3 books called the Bowyers Bible that will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about making bows.

Addictive isn't it. I haven't made shavings in about 4 yrs but I still get the itch every now'n'then. Now that I have a new job I am working 12hr shifts and don't have thew energy to even think about it. LOL.
