Powder horn ?s

Need a powder horn for .36-54 so medium 8-10 1/2  or large 10 1/2-12

Does a right handed shooter wear it on the right or left side?

Rem700, It's worked out to be a personal preference thing for me I Shoot Right bu the bag and horn I carry Right too.
I did start out with the Bag Left and the horn right but now I attach the horn to the bag.

If you're going to shoot at rondys I'd get the big one. 40 or 50 shots with a .54 will use some powder. I also carry on the right.
As a carpenter, I'm used to my tools on the right side, nails left. I tried left side carry but found I kept reaching to the right.
Just years of habit I guess.

I'm right handed but carry my horn on the right side with the bag.  Habit, maybe, but I fumble less with this arrangement.

I have the same habit for the same reason. Just seems natural on the right, as that is where a right handed person has more control...

guess I'm different, I'm left handed but carry my stuff on the right cause I don't like nothing bumping my rifle when I'm out walking with it an I usually am always carring it in my left hand.

Right-handed here, but I like the bag & horn on the left to keep it out of the way. The horn swings up with my left hand while the right holds the measure. Try 'em both to see what comes natural.

I shoot from the right and carry on the left, nothing gets in the way or gets bumped around that way. I used to carry on the right, but I had a bag light up one time after a shot and decided to switch. It is a strange feeling having the bag go poof and wonder if anything else is going to go off. There was some unburned powder that had built up in the bag and it caught a spark, but at least nothing else went off.

Try it both ways and see which is more comfortable. For me reaching into the bag with the left hand while holding the rifle with the right hand works just fine.

One more thing to keep in mind that some horns because of curve and twist will determin the side they should be carried on. All but one of the horns I have can be carried on either side. that one must be carried of the right side because the way the twist comes into play if you carry it on the left side the point end sticks out and will snag on just about any thing with in a foot [well maybe not that far buy it seems like it

I had read of right and left handed horns which is why I raised the question.  Is a curved horn so that it wraps around your body preferred or does a flat horn that would perhaps work on either side be better or is it all personal preference?

Harry that horn does catch on enything within 1 foot of it!  I've been around you remember!
